School Leaders

With these two pages, I read about the people who play a big role in schools. They are the principals. Four individual principals were chosen in 2007 to accept the Time Warner: Principals of Excellence Awards. We may not know it, but, principals have a lot of responsibilities. Expectations of them are high and resources are sometimes limited. These two ladies here are Dr. Sandye Poitier-Johnson and Ruth N. Quiles. Dr. Johnson is the principal of our school (TMA). Ruth N. Quiles is the principal of P.S. 131.

We may not know it, but, principals have a lot of responsibilities. The demands placed on our principals make their jobs among the most challenging ever. Before being the principal of Thurgood Marshall Academy, Dr. Johnson was a special education teacher in Brooklyn. When Ruth Quiles arrived at P.S. 131, it was identified as a School in Need of Improvement. These 2 women have bettered these 2 schools.
